2026  Canadian Cutting Horse Association Champions

For generations, the Hansma Family has played a significant role in the growth and success of the Canadian Cutting Horse Association and the advancement of cutting horse competition in Canada. Through leadership, breeding, training, judging, event production, mentorship, and volunteer service, they have helped shape and strengthen the Canadian cutting horse industry.

Beginning with Hans and Henny Hansma, the family became leaders in the development of the Quarter Horse and western performance horse industries in Western Canada. Their dedication to horsemanship, work ethic, and community involvement established a legacy that continues to influence the sport today.

The Hansma name is recognized throughout the cutting horse world through the accomplishments of Winston, Gerry, Paul, David, and Taco Hansma. As competitors, trainers, judges, mentors, and industry leaders, they have promoted Canadian cutting on the national and international stage. Their success includes the training and showing of some of the sport's most influential horses, including CD Olena, CD Lights, Hicapoo, Playboy McCrae, Sister CD, and Our Little Dyno, helping elevate both the reputation of Canadian horsemen and the standard of cutting horse competition.

Their impact extends far beyond personal achievements. Through the Hans Hansma Youth Scholarship Fund, the family has invested in future generations by supporting youth scholarships, championship awards, clinics, mentorship programs, and educational opportunities. Their ongoing commitment has encouraged countless young horsemen and horsewomen to pursue excellence in the sport.

In recognition of their extraordinary contributions to the Canadian Cutting Horse Association, their dedication to the promotion of cutting in Canada, and their lasting legacy of leadership, sportsmanship, and service, the Hansma Family is proudly inducted into the Canadian Cutting Horse Association Hall of Fame
